Floria Sigismondi

Floria Sigismondi is a photographer and director. I was told about her from a friend and decided to research a little into her style and work. Although her work is mainly with music videos, I thought it would be worth while looking into a variety of different style moving picture practitioners. 

One thing that I particularly like about her style of filming is the jittery and unique shaky camera actions, although not to my taste, it does help to differentiate her work to others within the music video industry.

This movie also uses a lot of close up shots, something which seems to be a reoccurring theme, or maybe it is just the videos that I have chosen! As already mentioned, these close ups look great but I personally dont find them appealing. 

One other thing that I really like about this short movie (9mins long) is that of the use of still imagery which has a talking audio overlaid  this really creates a great narrative and starts to tell the story that the director wants.

The reason I decided to look at this artist is because by doing so, I will learn about different styles of film making as well as other unique styles of filming which may influence my final piece.
